Alternative yarn
The pattern can be made with many different types of yarn, which can give a different look to the scarf. For example Cashmere Classic from Cardiff, Cashmere Premium from Lang Yarns, or two strands of Cashmere Dreams from Lang Yarns. The scarf can also be made with one strand of wool/alpaca like for example Alpakka Silke from Sandnes Garn, Inca from Rauma Garn or Flora from Drops, together with one strand of mohair like for example Tynn Slik Mohair from Sandnes Garn or Kid-Silk from Drops. Be aware that the gauge and the measurements in the pattern may vary a bit with a different yarn. You need about 120 meters of yarn for the small size and 160 meters of yarn for the large size. The length per skein varies, so check for the yarn you want to use.
The pattern is written in US crochet terminology.
